One of a kind, earthenware works by South Carolina artist Penny Pierson- Burke.
Rain is so essential but I think we are essential enough. This has been by far the rainyest (obviously bad spelling here, I have a squiggly underline) Winter I can remember.
One thing I can say is that rain means: CREATE. Odd yes, but I don't sit well (ya think?) the rain traps me in four walls and sitting happens. So today I will CREATE. I think I will work on sake/tea cups and try a new bowl idea.. I recently purchased a wheel, my third one (maybe 3 is the charm) I have made so many attempts to create on a wheel and I think I have throwers block or something, I just cant seem to get it. But, now I am determined. As a side, personal note: I am newly separated and the prospect of taking on a career is creating must angst for me. I have worked for 20 years to make my career as an artist and after a full year of doing so I just can't bring myself to throw in the towel now. So, teaching is an option and to do this I MUST When you offer pottery classes, everyone wants to be Demi Moore on Ghost! If you bring out a rolling pin and clay they look at you like you are nuts. So, pleasing the masses I must.
Today I am posting some pics of my recent work, gosh I love flowers on clay, don't you?
